National funding

In this project, Helmholtz and Fraunhofer pool their competencies in order to close the current gap between academic research and industry by efficiently transferring QT - especially quantum computing (QC) - into industrial value creation.
The goal of QCStack is to create a cross-technology middleware that provides standardized functions for the development and compilation, commissioning and operation of gate-based QC.
The mission of the Collaborative Research Centre 1451 is to provide an integrated and comprehensive view of the neurobiological underpinnings of motor control and its disturbances.
DAQC aims at the construction of a digital-analogue quantum computer to be coupled with supercomputers as a computation accelerator.

HIBALL focuses on the interaction between neuroscience and artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning, to build highly detailed 3D models of the brain at the cellular level.
HiRSE aims at the establishment of central activities in RSE and the targeted, sustainable funding of strategically important software by Community Software Infrastructure (CSI) groups.
The Helmholtz Quantum Center (HQC) is a central technology laboratory that is to be established on the Forschungszentrum Jülich campus, which will cover the entire spectrum of quantum computing research, from quantum materials research to prototype development.
iBehave brings together world-class scientists who will work across disciplines and species to study survival-related behaviours and the neural networks and mechanisms that underlie them.

In cooperation with the automotive industry: Testing artificial intelligence and machine learning applications to run on quantum computers.
The project “Quantum computer in the solid state” (QSolid) aims to create an all-German supply chain for quantum computing as a central building block of sustainable digital sovereignty for Germany.
This collaborative project will develop the world's first millikelvin and UHV scanning probe microscopy instrument family based on adiabatic demagnetization cooling, which is versatile as an experimental environment for the emerging research field of quantum nanoscience and quantum technologies.
The QUASIM project is investigating how quantum computing (QC) can be used to develop medium- and long-term benefits for manufacturing industry applications.
The goal of this project is to implement and demonstrate a microarchitecture overcoming previous geometric scaling limits at the quantum level using semiconductor technology available in Germany with Si/SiGe quantum wells as the technological basis.
In the project, layer- and area-specific neuron densities in human cortex will be measured and used to help predict cortical connectivity, and the resulting model will be simulated to investigate relationships between structure and dynamics.
The overall goal of the project is to improve the quality of superconducting qubits by orders of magnitude using thermal laser epitaxy (TLE).

International funding

The aim of ALLODD is to train a new generation of scientists to exploit the concept of allostery in drug design, putting together a whole array of technologies to identify and characterize allosteric modulators of protein function that will be applied to therapeutically relevant systems.
The Human Brain Project aims to put in place a cutting-edge research infrastructure that will allow scientific and industrial researchers to advance our knowledge in the fields of neuroscience, computing, and brain-related medicine.
The overall vision of the OpenSuperQ project is to build a hybrid high-performance open quantum computer of up to 100 qubits and to sustainably make it available at a central site for external users.
The central goal of Orbital Cinema is to reach sub-cycle time resolution in orbital videography and to actively shape and functionalize molecular orbitals with lightwaves.
Project QLSI aims to develop a scalable technology for silicon qubits for quantum computing. Silicon qubits can be driven and read out quickly and are ideally suited for quantum computing due to their small size, high quality and compatibility with industrial manufacturing processes.
The 3D MAGiC project aims at understanding the behavior and controlling of some of the least explored and most puzzling objects in nanomagnetism: three dimensional magnetic solitons.
